The Moorlands Crew

Keith Moors will be your host for the week. Keith began fishing in 1954 at the age of five. He caught his first Carp in 1960 and “converted” to carp angling exclusively in June 1967. He was lucky enough to catch the first reported Oxfordshire forty, from Linear’s Manor Farm on 5th November 1996. Virtually from that moment on he was determined to put his many years of experience to work in order to create a special fishery for everyone to enjoy. In 2001 Keith and his wife bought a house in France, with its own nature reserve and lake. On 1st May 2002, Moorland Fisheries opened for business. Keith's extensive knowledge of Carp, rigs, baits and presentation are now readily available to all Moorland Fisheries' customers.

Jan Moors has been Keith’s long-suffering wife since November 1967. Cooking has been as much a hobby for Jan as fishing has been for Keith. She has a natural flair for providing superb meals and for “adjusting” or “discovering” recipes with that little extra “je ne sais quoi.” She always sources the very best and freshest food each day, and makes her decisions about that day's menu after examining what is on offer in the market, thus maintaining the highest possible standards. It is Jan who sets and controls the cuisine at Chez Moorlands, and each meal is a culinary masterpiece.

Image of Sharon Moors

Sharon is Jan & Keith’s daughter here seen with her PB Carp at 37lb 14oz. Sharon has seen most of her Dad’s carp exploits at close range and has a wealth of knowledge about the fish and the methods needed to catch them. She will be on hand to ensure your stay is enjoyable, relaxing, and as comfortable as possible, and will be responsible for producing the full English breakfasts plus helping her Mum with the evening meals.
