Moorland Fisheries House Rules

Since we opened Moorland Fisheries in 2002, we have found it necessary to introduce some basic rules. These will always be kept to a minimum, but the following list is essential for the welfare of our fish, and also to maintain the beauty of our wonderful surroundings.

• No nuts of any kind.
• No shelf-life boilies.
• No fixed or tether rigs of any kind.
• No leaders of any kind.
• No uncoated braid hook links.
• No bent hooks or long-shank curved hooks.
• Minimum 15lb [0.35 dia] breaking strain main line.
• Swims must be kept clean and tidy at all times to avoid rubbish being blown into the lake.
• Lakeside vegetation and trees must not be damaged in any way.
• No boats of any kind.
• No sacking of fish under any circumstances.
• No open fires.
• Three rod maximum per angler.
• Rods must not be left unattended at any time.
• Please use suitable antiseptic dressing on wounds as necessary.
• Additionally, any practice that results in avoidable harm or injury to the fish will be dealt with firmly.

We are sure that you will agree that all of the above are sensible rules and would be expected in any well run fishery. Any angler found breaking any of the above will be asked to leave the fishery immediately and no refund will be given.

Moorland Fisheries has a wonderful and tranquil ambiance which we are sure you will appreciate and respect. To this end any rowdy behaviour or excessive drinking is discouraged and offenders could be asked to leave.
